Meet the coaching team supporting Crystal Palace this season

Get To Know Sage’s Strong Coaching Team

Crystal Palace have announced the coaching staff who will be supporting our new manager, Pierre Sage, as we enter another critical season as a club – once again looking to bring some silverware back to South London.

First and foremost, let’s pay homage to those who continue to stick with us…

PADDY MCCARTHY

If you don’t know the ever-present Paddy, get to know. He’s been part of Crystal Palace for the past 18 years, he signed as a player in 2008 with 151 appearances to his name before gradually working up the ranks as a coach, going from U18s to U23s and then eventually in 2023 becoming a first-team coach.

ANDY QUY

Andy Quy continues to serve as Crystal Palace’s goalkeeping coach since joining the team last season. Andy has been coaching for 20 years, with 8 years serving Premership clubs.

This is where it gets interesting, where I tell you all about the new staff coming to Selhurst Park alongside Sage:

DAMIEN DELLA SANTA

Ladies and gentleman, we have got ourselves a specialist set piece coach in Damien… Damien started coaching football from 14-years-old, and his main skillset includes set pieces – which of course is becoming such a big thing in modern day football, but also individual player development. Previously, Damien was an assistant coach under Sage at Lyon, and has also worked with OGC Nice. From reading into past interviews, he seems a very intelligent and promising young coach – and I look forward to seeing how he can support us.

JAMAL ALIOUI

Jamal is pretty much Sage’s right-hand-man. He served alongside Sage at both Lyon and RC Lens, where of course the pair achieved some big things – let’s hope they do the same with us! Jamal was previously a player, he was a Moroccan international – and moreso, their captain at the 2004 Summer Olympics. It’s reassuring to see Jamal following Sage to South London – and I’m sure he will have a valuable impact.

SANDY GUICHARD

Sandy Guichard will be our new fitness coach – which is what he has spent the previous 7 years doing at AS Monaco. Prior to Monaco, he worked in a similar role for a large variety of clubs – and also the Algerian national team.

To summarise, I would say the future of our club is in good hands under this coaching team.
